December!!!
What a week... I think this might have been one of the busiest weeks of my life! I worked on Monday and then drove to Jackson MS (almost a 3 hour drive) when I got off of work. I had to be in Jackson for a new associate conference for Aflac. I had one of the best times of my life!!! The speaker was incredible. He had an amazing life story and touched everyone in a special way...there is no way anyone could have sat through the conference and left not being "fired up" about selling insurance : ) Wednesday night I drove back to Demopolis, and worked Thursday and Friday! Phew! I am so glad it is Saturday, and am enjoying every second of it. Brian had two friends come and stay the weekend with us, and they woke up this morning to go and sit in freezing weather, all in hopes of killing a duck. To my amazement, they ended up bringing home 4. I greeted them with a hot breakfast casserole which they seemed to enjoy. The house is quiet now, as all three of them have fallen asleep in the living room. I need to enjoy this time to myself, because it won't be long before it is gone. One question to ask...why is it that boys do not know how to use "inside voices" once they get around eachother? Brian never has to raise his voice for me to understand what he's saying...but yet, when they get together, they feel as though talking louder will get their point across better. I guess I will never fully understand the ways of men!

Demopolis, Alabama
Never in a million years did I ever think that I would begin to blog, but I have really suprised myself. Being in Demopolis, Brian and I have learned that it has become harder for us to stay in touch with people. Everyone wants to hear about our life here, but there is no way either one of us could keep everyone updated by phone. For one, we couldn't afford the phone bill, and secondly, we would waste our entire weekend chatting on a cell phone telling the same story over and over again. So here I am...blogging!
For starters, Brian and I are really enjoying Demopolis. I was very emotional in the beginning, but now have adjusted well. Brian loves his new job with the power company, and is constantly impressing me with his accomplishments. I have recently started working as an insurance agent for Aflac, and am really enjoying it so far. The only negative aspect of the job is that it is a commissioned based job...that can make or break you! Brian and I have talked about it, and I've prayed about it, and feel that this is my perfect opportunity to at least "try" and see how well I do.
We have met some great people here, and are looking forward to developing a lot of great friendships! We are still trying to find a church home, and are anxious to see where God leads us!
I will try to update the blog at least a couple of times a week, so stay posted!
